In the Presence of Ants and Egles - Shifting Seasons!

Today and Yesterday, I went about doing all of the things that people do for Christmas - Clean and Decorate like crazy to get ready for family and cook their hearts out! Well it turned out that due to the inclement weather, our family was unable to come together. This season has most of our family stuck in their homes with no way to come together to celebrate Christ's birth. It was still an amazing day. I spent it with my mother and it is amazing the things that I learn from this woman. Her spirit wasn't down and she had GODTV (awesome channel, btw) playing just about the entire day, lol.

As she decided to go into the shower, I decided to get out of my pity party and watch the Hillsong Conference 2007. As I was watching the message, TD. Jakes captured me. It is amazing when you take time to LISTEN and realize that something inside of you just clicks ON - how pertinent the message being shared is for your spiritual man (woman, in my case, lol)! He discussed Eagles, which automatically made me think of ants. Isn't our God so amazing - how God tells us to liken ourselves to two completely different creatures, both powerful in their own right. Looking at them with human eyes we can't understand; we look at their size and their power or weakness and outwardly judge them. God chooses the most amazing creatures to confound us and teach us powerful and relateable messages!

Back to the point, lol. I was watching the Hillsong conference and T.D. Jakes struck a chord when he discussed the importance of being with eagles! Eagles are strikingliy, distinct creatures! They have no competition, in fact, even the smallest eagle, "the booted eagle - comparable in size to a common buzzard, have relatively longer and more evenly broad wings, and more direct, faster flight." We should strive to be like eagles in every aspect and area of our lives. Being an eagle means going to another level. It's a part of an entirely different order! What am I saying? - that when we become a part of a different order; we walk into a different season in our lives.

We need to use this example to keep track of the time we have in our lives. We could for instance, decide that we only want to be chickens. Chickens are comfortable, they never leave land because they don't fly, and because they don't fly, they will never know what it is like to discover what the skies hold. Metaphorically, there are certain people in your life, whom you may love, but who will never encourage you for greatness but rather unknowingly clip your wings to keep you from taking off! What does this have to do with seasons?

It has everything to do with seasons! It is time to re-position ourselves for the next level! We can't live our lives with chickens anymore. As a people, when we live our lives as chickens, we can only see that which is in front of us, but when we elevate to the level of an eagle our vision becomes circumspect - We can not only see what is around us, but the higher we go the more we become exposed to... This is necessary for success in our lives and fulfilling the will God has placed in us - whether you believe it or not.

As I look into the next season of my life, which will most likely be filled with missions no matter where I am and marriage (whomever God chooses for me), this is a staple that I must hold on to. I don't know if you know this, but eagles mate in the air! This is significant because an eagle knows that only another eagle can fly that high :-) An eagle can not take a chicken in the air to mate. You will know that God has given you the right one when you are both soaring like eagles. Don't settle to be a chicken in any aspect of your life because it is comfortable. Being a chicken robs you of a fulfilled future - and what you don't know is bound hurt you!

Ok well that's enough for tonight; sorry for the scatterbrained post, lol -I hope it benefits!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
